Silk Satin Pillowcases
i'm always a little sceptical of beauty myths and promises of rejuvenating, anti-wrinkle 'miracle' creams.
However, I am a convert when it comes to sleeping on the decadent luxury of silk satin pillowcases, my hair is less frazzled in the morning and my skin does feel smoother. I'm often told i don't look anything like my age - sixty five - so maybe there is something in the myth.
Though how much real scientific evidence there is remains to be seen but hairdresser friends have been lauding the properties of sleeping on silk satin pillowcases for years, extolling the virtues if you're wearing hair extensions, smoothing frizzy hair as allegedly is the reason Nicole Kidman uses them.
According to Hollywood folklore Marylin Monroe always wore nothing but Chanel no 5 in bed and slept on silk. And these great legends knew a thing or two.........
Info: Satin isn't a fabric, it's a type of weaving process used for silk to stunning effect but also wool, acetate and unfortunately polyester - grimly reminiscent of the ghastly, luridly coloured bridemaid's dresses I was forced into as a child and that I'm still receiving therapy for.
